Pest prevention is one of the main components of a commercial kitchen’s effort to maintain food safety and pass audits by health inspectors. At Abell Pest Control, the CleanSafe Kitchen program was created for this very reason; to help staff in commercial kitchens establish strict cleaning schedules and provide free video training on specific subjects.
CleanSafe is part of Abell’s staff training services. The free training resources were created for front-line staff and managers in the commercial and industrial kitchen food operations industry. CleanSafe educates management and food workers about the link between sanitation and pests on their premises. Developed by our Quality Assurance department, our Pest Control Technicians, and a multi-disciplinary group of professionals from Conestoga Colleges Culinary & Hospitality education programs.
By following the training and maintenance outlined in CleanSafe Kitchen, your staff will stay on top of their cleaning and sanitation responsibilities daily, weekly, and monthly, allowing you to operate at the safest health levels and reducing the likelihood of pest issues.

Cleaning Dishwasher Areas
Food preparation and pre-washing of dishes will build up debris in the sink drains. Because flies are attracted to the organic slime and waste build-up, it becomes another target zone for developing infestations.
Floor Drains Maintenance Procedure
Often dirt, grime, and food get stuck in floor drains causing a build-up of organic material. Flies and cockroaches will find these areas suitable for breeding due to the availability of moisture, darkness, and food.
