Calgary U study finds bats & wind turbines deadly mix

Wind turbines designed as an environmentally friendly power source have turned out to be not so friendly to some parts of the environment, according to a new study, specifically bats. The University of Calgary study found that sudden air pressure changes around the giant spinning propellers is likely the cause of the large numbers of migratory bats found dead in southern Alberta.
